This article outlines what to do when your submitted file fails ASAP structure.
"ASAP" is the file format that ensure all dispensers collect the same information and that all reported information is sent in the same manner and order. The specific ASAP format used is determined by PMP State Administrator.
Creating a .dat File
If you are not sure how to create a .dat file, you have the option to use the Universal Claims Form (UCF) for submission within PMP Clearinghouse. Refer to article: How To Create a New Universal Claim Form. There is an example .dat file attached to this article that can be downloaded. Please open this file with Notepad++. This article contains movie character references in place of patient information.
Update File to Match ASAP
When a file does not meet ASAP requirements, you will receive a "file failed" report via email. This report can also be downloaded from the File Submissions screen on PMP Clearinghouse. On the File Submission screen, you will see a file listed as "failed" in the Status column.
- Update your .dat file to match your state's ASAP requirements and re-submit the updated version.
- Reference your state's PMP Clearinghouse User Guide, or Dispensation Guide to know which ASAP format to use.
If you would like to request a copy of your state's Clearinghouse User or Dispensation Guide, please submit a request to PMP Clearinghouse support.
